Global MedTech firm Becton Dickinson and Company has today announced plans to open a new R&D centre at Castletroy in Limerick.
Commonly known as BD, the company is growing its Limerick base which currently employs 100 people. The company also has 600 employees at its two other sites in Drogheda Co. Louth and Dunlaoire in South Co. Dublin.
BD recently announced 20 additional jobs for its Drogheda plant where it makes components for insulin injection.
The new centre will have a focus on BD's life sciences business - product and software development; clinical research instrumentation and the development of prototypes.
