INOU Welcomes DSFA Funding

4 Mar 2004

The Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed welcomes the securing of €150,000 from the Department of Social and Family Affairs for the continuation of its Welfare to Work Section during 2004. This section provides a welfare and information query service to the public, training to INOU affiliates on welfare to work issues as well as publishing its annual Working for Work book.

The 2004 edition of this book is expected to be available in May. It will be a comprehensive guide exploring welfare, work, education and training options for unemployed people.

‘The INOU is grateful for the funding as it enables us to continue providing a valuable service to the public and our affiliates’, said Mr Eric Conroy General Secretary INOU. ‘Given the extent of redundancies announced recently throughout the country, the INOU Welfare to Work section is ideal for providing information and advice to newly redundant workers as well as unemployed people on redundancy and social welfare entitlements. It also provides information on how to re-enter the labour market or how to access training and education’. The section can be contacted on (01) 8560088, or email welfareinfo@inou.ie
