Minister Brennan launches INOU’s 12th edition of Working for Work
26 May 2005
The Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed was delighted to have Mr Seamus Brennan, Minister for Social and Family Affairs to launch its 12th edition of the Working for Work publication.
‘This is a valuable guidebook that will help many along the route from welfare to work,’ said Mr Brennan. ‘It unravels many of the more complex issues and gives practical examples to convey the essential details of each programme, together with information and guidance on how to access the programmes and where to seek further information and help when required.’
In addition, Mr Eric Conroy, General Secretary INOU added that ‘this publication is as relevant now as it was 12 years ago because although the unemployment statistics have reduced significantly there is still a large number of people outside the labour market who need information and advice on the options and opportunities available to them with regard to (re)entering the labour market or participating in further education and training.
‘Working for Work’ is used by statutory and community sector workers who provide front line services to unemployed people as well as unemployed people and those outside the labour market. This edition is very user-friendly and has several new pages including;
·a guide to social welfare 2005 rates of payment
·Tax Rates
