INOU ANNUAL DELEGATE CONFERENCE
27 Sep 2005
Wednesday 28th September 2005
Chief O’Neill’s Hotel, Smithfield, Dublin 7. 10.30 – 3pm Opening Address by Mr David Begg, General Secretary Irish Congress of Trade Unions
Delegates from unemployed organisations from all over the country will tomorrow decide whether the INOU will enter into negotiations for a new National Partnership agreement at this year’s Annual Delegate Conference.
‘This is a very important Conference for the INOU’, said Mr Eric Conroy, General Secretary INOU. ‘Delegates from INOU affiliated organisations will decide on whether the INOU will enter into negotiations for any new Agreement. As a social partner, we have taken part in negotiations for the last three National Agreements. We believe that the Government must demonstrate it’s commitment to social partnership by delivering the remaining commitments from Sustaining Progress.’
The INOU Annual Conference is a key decision and policy-making forum for the organisation. The Conference provides opportunities for delegates from our affiliated organisations and branches to participate in INOU policy-making through debating, discussing and voting on the submitted motions. The Conference also elects members to our National Executive Committee.
