The Live Register is up again

Today the CSO issued the Live Register figures for May 2007. 159,800 people are on the seasonally adjusted register: which is up 1,600 on the previous month and 1,400 on the previous year. However, what is more striking is that it is up 3,500 on the beginning of this year.

In a week where well known names in the business world announced job cuts the increase in the Live Register is a worrying development.
