The Highest since March 2004

In the week that Minister Brian Cowen delivered his budget and predicted an unemployment rate of 5.5% by the end of 2008 the Live Register continued its upward trend. The seasonally adjusted figures now stands at 169,700 - its highest level since March 2004 when it stood at 169,800.
