Introduction to Social Welfare Appeals
A one-day training course intended for those working in the area of welfare rights and information provision. The course provides a basic and practical working overview of the procedures of Social Welfare appeals in order that the appeals system is fully used to the benefit of the client.
This course is most suitable for information workers who have some basic knowledge of the social welfare system and any others within an organisation who may be involved in supporting information provision.
The course covers the appeals process, what kind of decisions can be appealed and how to prepare an appeal in association with a client. The aim of the course is to familiarise workers with the process, to build confidence and use the appeals process more effectively.
This training course has been developed as an integral part of a wider range of training services provided by the INOU, which are designed to meet the practical needs of information providers. Through our extensive knowledge of the complex nature of information provision associated with 'Social Welfare' issues we have designed this course to provide the participant with the basic skills and knowledge necessary to successfully work within their organisation when dealing with Social Welfare Appeals.
Ideally, participants should have a basic understanding of the operation of the social welfare system.
At the end of the day we are confident that the participant will be assured in their ability to assist clients with Social Welfare Appeals.
