Urgent Needs Payment

Health Boards can make Urgent Needs payments to help with emergencies, for example in the case of damage due to fire/flood.

Assistance may be given in the form of a repayable loan, but this is not always the case. It can even be made to people who are normally excluded from the Supplementary Welfare Allowance (SWA) Scheme.
