West Training & Development was founded in 1994. It is a not for profit organisation that aims to promote good community development practice, equality and inclusion. Since 1994, the company has established itself as a leader in the provision of development and support to a wide variety of clients ranging from government departments to national and local community development organisations, established and non-established groups.
West Training & Development is currently contracted by the Family Support Services Unit Tusla (Child and Family Agency), to act as Regional Support Agency to Family Resource Centres based in the Western Region of Ireland (Donegal to Cork).
The core activities of this support role are working with voluntary directors and staff members of the Family Resource Centres to provide advice, support, information and training on promoting best practice and good governance.

We aim to support people and communities to develop, to structure, to advocate and to challenge issues by encouraging participation; building capacity to manage community projects through tailored training and information sessions; building on existing skills and igniting new ones; facilitating planning and review workshops; supporting proactive engagement and networking between projects.
