Exceptional Needs Payment (ENP)
Health Boards have the power to make once-off payments to meet exceptional or out of the ordinary needs. These payments can be made for a number of reasons including:
- Maternity items
- Buying or repairing essential household items
Generally ENP payments do not cover the full cost of the emergency need, and you will be required to provide proof of costs and receipts.
If you have a once-off expense, which you are unable to pay, you can apply for this payment. The decision to award an Emergency Needs Payment (ENP) is at the discretion of the Community Welfare Officer (CWO) and is based on the individual circumstances of each case.
