We are happy to announce that the INOU has been invited to take part in a major European Funded Project called SkillsMatch. An invitation we were delighted to accept.
The aim of the project is to develop a European wide assessment and learning guide application for measuring and developing Non-Cognitive skills (NC). NC skills are socially determined and developed throughout a person’s lifetime. They are often defined as ‘patterns of thought, feelings and behaviours’. The proposed SkillsMatch application will assess a person’s current NC skills, match those to job profiles and suggest further training or development to fill in any gaps needed to secure the required job. The application is not simply an assessment tool. It will also be populated with training modules and links to recommend other training.
A person will be able to build a personal profile based on their work experiences and learning. These experiences and learning will be measured and awarded open badges to provide recognition of skills and learning. The badges will show a person’s willingness to develop and enhance skills on an ongoing basis. Over time, it will build a strong personal profile for the individual which can be referenced when looking to change or secure employment.
Seven partners joined forces in this Project with extensive expertise in co-creation, skills frameworks and tech innovation: eGovlab Stockholm University (Co-ordinator - Sweden), Fundacio Eurecat (Spain), DMC Metrix (Ireland), Universidad de Alcalá (Spain), Everis (Spain), Fondazione Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and Trinity College Dublin (Ireland). The Project will have 4 Piloting Partners to fulfil piloting activities, one in each country.
As one of the piloting partners the INOU will be looking to recruit people to help design and assess the tool as it is developed. If you, or anyone you know, is interested in being part of this exciting new venture please contact either
