Doras Buí is a community development resource centre that provides high quality support and services to one parent families living in the greater Coolock area of Dublin. We aim to support lone parents to extend their life choices; overcome discrimination and become socially and economically independent. We provide this through our Crèche services, teen parent support, information and support service and our programmes. We have a variety of programmes that run-in line with the school term, school times and with reasonable prices, making it more accessible for lone parents.

Our teen parent support worker works with young parents aged 13yrs – 19years at referral. Our information and support worker provides one to one meetings for lone parents in the catchment area, around all aspects of being a lone parent such as, but not limited to, unemployment, social welfare entitlements, and housing. The information and support work also provides emotional and practical support such as typing letters, making phone calls and form filling. We also have, for a small fee, onsite adult counselling and child therapy.

We work in North Dublin covering seven districts. According to the 2011 Census, the total population of the area we serve is 130,929 people.
