South Dublin County Partnership is a local development company in South Dublin County. They develop and deliver projects to tackle poverty and social exclusion in the area. They do this through working together with people, local groups and partner organisations to address the issues that matter most.
On March 31 st 2022, the Employer Liaison team at the Partnership coordinated the Citywest Job Fair, which took place at Citywest Shopping Centre. Over 3,000 people attended the Job Fair, CVs were accepted, contacts were made, interviews were arranged, and job seekers were able to network and avail of the many training supports offered by South Dublin County Partnership.
The organisers felt that it proved to be a hugely successful event for the 32 participating local employers on the day. The Partnership were also delighted to welcome job seekers from a wide diversity of back grounds from across South Dublin County, including members of the Ukrainian community who recently arrived in Ireland.
In particular, the Job Fair showcased the many employment opportunities, pre-employment training options, CV and interview skills supports and language translation support available locally. Amongst the number of local agencies in attendance to advise job seekers on the additional supports available to them were: the Department of Social Protection, South Dublin County Libraries, as well as third level institutions. One of the organisers, Celine Blount noted “The atmosphere was great, the energy was so positive, we got a great response and feedback from the attendees”. She also said they were “ delighted to hear from employers that already a number of people who attended the Job Fair have commenced employment” .
