Cross Border Living and Working Series - 2023

We ran two Cross Border Living and Working online events in 2023. The events were well attended and the feedback from these have been very positive.

The first online event was held in September. We were delighted to partner with the Cross-Border Partnership for Employment Services and the Belfast Unemployed Resource Centre for this event.

Lorraine O’Malley, Coordinator of the Cross-Border Partnership for Employment Services presented on the work of the Cross-Border Partnership and highlighted some emerging issues and Joe Lavery, Department of Communities NI provided additional information. Aisling Cartmill, Routes to Resilience Coordinator with the Belfast Unemployed Resource Centre presented on the work of the Centre, highlighting important services the Centre provides.

Cross Border Partnership for Employment Services

 

The second of the Cross Border Living and Working online events took place in November. We were delighted to partner with Advice NI, the Border People Project (Centre for Cross Border Studies) and North Connacht and Ulster Citizens Information Service (CIS) for this online event.

Kevin Higgins, Head of Policy at Advice NI presented on the varied work of the Advice NI Centres across Northern Ireland as well as highlighting some key emerging issues. Annmarie O’Kane’s, Manager of the Border People Project, presentation highlighted the work of the Project and focussed on a number of the current cross border concerns for Workers living in one jurisdiction and working in the other. Sharon Dillon’s, Regional Manager with the North Connacht and Ulster CIS presentation outlined the work and geographical reach of the Citizen Information Centres in Ulster and North Connacht.
