Regional Discussion Forums 2025
We held six Regional Discussion Forums in 2025.
Three were held in October/November (29th October and 4th and 13th November) and three were held in April ( 23rd, 24th and 29th April). Two of these events were in-person – in Sligo on the 4th November and Dublin on the 29th April - and four online.
October/November Discussion Forums
The theme of the October/November Discussion Forums focussed on the difficulties that arise for people who are caught between different payments. Rebecca Gorman, INOU Head of Policy and Media presented on the employment aspects within the National Disability Strategy. Robbert Lynch, the INOU Manager of the Welfare Rights Information Section presented on ‘A brief overview of capacity and ability implications for Jobseekers as relevant to Genuinely Seeking Work and Activation engagement’.

April Discussion Forums
The theme for the April Regional Discussion Forums centred on Back to Work Supports and the Programme for Government. Rebecca Gorman, our Head of Policy and Media provided a presentation ‘Programme for Government 2025-2030’. Robbert Lynch, Manager of our Welfare Rights Section presentation, presented on ‘Back to Work Supports: A brief overview of a range of supports for Jobseekers seeking to return to employment’.
