eB48A-01

Welcome to issue 48 of the INOU e-Bulletin!

In this issue we have a piece on The Changing PUP , how it has evolved and the upcoming changes in the pipeline. We have reaction and reflection on Budget 2022 and how we believe it could have been better. We take a look at the wonderful exhibition Socio-Economic Discrimination: Through the Creative Lens, the culmination of community arts and poetry projects which took place over lockdown.

We have a piece on the important work of Local Employment Services, and a piece on the development of an important tool in Enabling Employment Guidance in Public Employment Services . In Developing the Skills to Succeed we hear from An Cosán and Accenture about their ‘Skills to Succeed’ program providing easy to access training. We also hear from the Ballymun Job Centre about their program IN-VEST 2: Integrated Vocational Employability Skills Training which they have been running with support from J.P. Morgan.

We also have a breakdown of the recently launched Adult Literacy for Life Strategy, an examination  of the possible negative impact of Brexit on the Irish employment market in Employment Exposures to Brexit, and an explainer on the FastTrack system which allows Jobseekers recipients suspend their claim and take up a brief period of employment.

The Scheme to Support National Organisations is funded by the Government of Ireland through the Department of Rural and Community Development.
