Welcome to Issue 42 of the INOU’s e-Bulletin!

In this issue we look at the Programme for Government from an INOU perspective. There is an interesting article from Maynooth University entitled “THE ‘HIGH ROAD’ BACK TO WORK: Developing a Public Employment Eco System for a Post-Covid Recovery”. There are updates on the COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment, the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme; and the impact of COVID-19 on employment and unemployment figures.

The Training section bring us up to speed on their work, and learners on the Local Training Initiatives Building Futures and Shaping Futures talk about their experiences of learning on-line; and there's the Welfare Rights Section’s Out and About Online report.

Colleagues in the ILDN and IWA write about their experiences of managing their work through the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. There is an article on the CSO ‘Employment and Life Effects of COVID-19’ Release ; an individual member makes A Call for Real Change ; and the European Union makes recommendations to Ireland. Another article looks at work undertaken by UCC on the Experiences of Welfare Conditionality; and finally there is The Poet’s Corner.
