SIGNIFICANT progress has been made in the proposed development of 585 new housing units at the O’Devaney Gardens complex, according to a Dublin city councillor.

Cllr Niall Ring (Ind) welcomed the news that stage two of the procurement process is now up and running. He said that a pre-qualification questionnaire had been issued, inviting bidders to put themselves forward for consideration on a shortlist of potential developers/contractors.

Dublin City Council will engage with the shortlisted bidders in October and final tenders will be sought in the third week of December 2017 with a view to executing the development agreement with the successful party at the end of January 2018.

Cllr Ring said: "Then it will be all systems go to develop this site into 584 housing units, broken down into 50 per cent private homes, 30 per cent social homes and 20 per cent starter homes, a mix fought for by local councillors and supported by the full council.
