Alternative banking provider and fintech firm Prepaid Financial Services (PFS) is to create 30 new jobs at its Navan operation, as part of plans to hire 50 staff in the UK, Ireland and Malta The company’s Irish office, eCOMM Merchant Solutions in Navan, already employs 52 staff. Founder and CEO Noel Moran(pictured) said that he hopes the town will eventually develop into a fintech hub to rival Dublin

Moran also established PFS in 2008, a payments technology firm that provides e-money and banking solutions including e-wallets, physical and virtual prepaid cards and current accounts in the UK and the EurozoneThe fast-growing company now has its programmes live and active in 23 countries, with the ability to transact in 20 different currencies. Moran is a finalist in the international category of this year’s EY Entrepreneur of the Year competition.

Commenting, Moran said: “The last 12 months have seen explosive growth for PFS and our half-year results have been fantastic, with 60% growth from 2015 and projected EBIT for 2016 of £6.5 million.

“The revenue generated by programmes across Europe has allowed us to invest in creating new jobs in the fintech industry, and as we fill positions internally wherever possible, this will also result in exciting career development opportunities opening up to our existing employees at both eCOMM and PFS

The 30 new roles will be announced in the upcoming weeks with the aim to fill all positions within six months

PFS, which is headquartered in the UK, saw its net profit jump fourfold to over €2m last year. Turnover also grew by 56% to €33m and the company’s year-end net worth in 2015 was €3m
