Meanwhile, US pharmaceutical company PTC Therapeutics is expanding its EU headquarters in Dublin to 40 staff, resulting in 10 new jobs.

The company researches and develops novel oral treatments for patients with serious and life-limiting disorders.

The drugs PTC Therapeutics develops treat rare diseases, particularly Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The jobs announcement is timely, given that today (7 September) is World Duchenne Awareness Day.

PTC Therapeutics’ Dublin site is based in Grand Canal Plaza and is responsible for finance, quality assurance, legal and a host of other back-office roles. The new jobs are expected within a short period of time.
