San Francisco-based fintech company YapStone has opened its international headquarters in Drogheda, with plans to people it with up to 50 staff over the coming year. YapStone provides online and mobile payment solutions, and has raised over $110 million from investors in recent years. It employs 400 people in the US and Ireland.
Tom Villante, YapStone’s chairman, co-founder and CEO, said that Drogheda was selected as the location for his company’s international HQ thanks to the backing of the IDA and the talent pool in Ireland.
YapStone’s Drogheda office will host positions in engineering, product, sales, customer service, and risk operations, as well as site security and reliability.
Claiming “significant” US and international growth in the past three years, YapStone is forecasted to process over $15bn in electronic payments in 2016.
