The Airton Road Retail Park store will begin construction in October as it merges five smaller retail units in the park. This new store location brings the number of Harvey Norman stores in Ireland to thirteen in the Republic and two in the North.
Lying derelict since 2008, the Airton Road Retail Park never opened and fell victim to disuse. The company plans to invest €6m in a modern retail development with almost 60,000 square feet of retail space, a 250-space carpark, 42 cycle stands and a Costa Coffee cafe.
The planning permission also details new access and road improvements to the Greenhills Road including plans to widen lanes, provision of a cycle lane, right-hand turn lanes, traffic lights, pedestrian and cycle crossing points and traffic management systems.
