OVER 200,000 Southsiders will benefit from the multi-million new covered storage reservoir at Stillorgan, Irish Water has said.
The company has awarded the contract for the design, construction and commissioning of the reservoir to not only safeguard the drinking water supply but also support the growth of new homes and businesses for the next 15 years.
The contract was awarded to J Murphy & Sons Limited who will begin construction in early 2019. The project is part of a €200m investment in the Vartry Water Supply Scheme and is expected to be completed in 2022.
